Shelby had a great tournament in Steamboat this past weekend, making the Quarter Finals for the first time ever in a circuit event in the Intermountain Region. Shelby finished in the top 8 of the 32 girl draw. she won her first match 6-0 6-0 and her second match 6-1 6-4. In her third match, Shelby played good against the #3 seed, but lost 6-4 6-3 and in the consolation match, Shelby lost 7-5 6-1, but played well against the #5 seed, the same opponent that she lost to in Las vegas a month ago 6-2 6-1. Shelby and her partner Ellie had a tough first round, loosing 8-4 in the doubled draw. so its back to the courts to start getting ready for the Jon Cox tournament next week and the summer sectionals the week after. all in all a great tournament for Shelby and she played her new aggressive game and is coming along well for her training.
