Darling Challenger 2014

Shelby had a good first tournament in Las Vegas,for the Darling Tennis Center Challenger (level 7)tournament. Shelby won her first round 6-4 6-0 in a good warm up match for the tournament. in the second round, Shelby won 6-1 6-1 against one of her fellow No Quit academy girls. In the finals, Shelby lost a tough match in the third set tie breaker 6-4 3-6 (10-6). The final match was great to watch, a both girls pulled off some amazing shots to get to the third set tie breaker, but it just wasn't Shelby's day to come out of it the victor. All in all a good tournament, now back to practice for the next local event.

Snowball 2014

After finally getting moved to Las Vegas, Shelby competed in her first tournament as part of the No Quit family. Shelby won her first round in a great match 7-6 7-6, against a good opponent that she had never beaten before. In the second round, Shelby played a great match, but just wasn't getting the points she needed at the right time and lost 6-1 6-2. Shelby lost in the consolation round 6-4 6-4 to her friend Amanda, who played a great match. It was a fun trip and Shelby enjoyed spending time at the matches and the nightly dinners with her new No Quit family. Along with the No quit girls, it was a great trip to see some of her old friends from Colorado.
