Punk Relic 2013

Shelby and I played the 2013 Punk Relic Tournament last weekend and had a great time. we were a little over our heads in the Advanced division, playing high school players and a division 1 college player in the first round, but had a great time playing together and bonding on a fun day at the courts. Shelby had a great attitude even with her partner not playing that good on the day. Probably held her back a little, but all in all a fun day on the courts :0)

Summer sizzler - Park City

Shelby played the Girls 14's Summer sizzler sectional this past weekend in Park City, Utah. Shelby won her first match 7-5 6-4 in a good match, then had to play the number 1 seed in the tournament. She lost 6-0 6-0, but played well. in the consolation matches, Shelby lost 6-3 6-4 and on the last day, she lost 6-0 6-1 in a match where she was very tired after a long weekend. Shelby was paired with Emmikate from Utah in the doubles, and without knowing each other or ever playing together, they won 8-5 after being down 5-1 in the pro set first round. They fought hard, but lost to the number 1 seeds, the Shea sisters in the next round of doubles. All in all it was a good fun experience for Shelby, and we will go back to the drawing board, to work on her game for the next level in the 14's
