Easter Circuit Day 1

Shelby had a good first day here at the Easter Circuit in Las Vegas. After an early morning flight, she got a good warm up in the afternoon with Sarah Hammer and Samantha Anthony. The hot weather was something that all the girls will have to get used to in the next few days, but they seemed to be ok playing in the 86 degree weather during warm up. Shelby and her doubles partner Ellie Strande won their first round of doubles 8-2, but lost the next round 8-1 to a very good team. Tomorrow will be the first round of singles at 1:30, so lets hope for the best.

ADNA Select Gear

Shelby received her Athletic DNA spring kit in the mail today, right before we leave for Vegas tomorrow. She will wear her new gear in the Easter Circuit this weekend when she plays at the Las Vegas Hotel Saturday thru Tuesday. The gear looks great and Shelby is happy to be part of the ADNA team for the 2013 season.

Meadow Creek Finals

Shelby lost 6-0 6-1 in the finals of the Meadow Creek Junior Open of the Girls 12's division to her good friend Annika Bassey. Congrats to Annika ona good tourment. It was a good tournament for Shelby, who earned some good ranking points for her goal of making the Top 10 in the Girls 12's this year. This is her second runner up trophy at Meadow Creek in the last two tournamets, so it might be a lucky place for her to play. Now its back to the practice courts to get ready for the Easter Ciruit coming up at the end of the month in Las Vegas. With some good workouts, Shelby should have a good tournament in Vegas.

Day three at Meadow creek saw shelby into the quarter finals of the Girls 12's where she played Olivia Desso and won 6-2 5-7 (10-2) to advance to the semi finals of he girls 12's. In her secnd match of the day, Sshelby played the quarter finls of the girls 14's where she lost to Tatum Burger, 6-0 6-1 in a match against the #1 seed. finally after her first two matches, Shelby was in the semi finals against Sophie Pearson. Shelby won 7-6 6-1 to advance to the Girls 12's final tomorow against Anika Bassey. All in all a good day and a good tournament for her. Shelby played a total of 4-1/2 hours of tennis today for her three matched and I am sure will sleep well this evening. Shelby was also selcted onto the Athletic DNA Junior select team today, which will keep her in Athltic DNA gear through the 2013 season.

Meadow Creek

Shelby won her first round matches at the Meadow Creek Tournament in the 12's and 14's division. in the 14's she beat Bianca Abbott 6-1 6-4 and won her 12's match 6-1 6-7 10-1 against Amanda Schlater, both girls played amazing and it is a shame there had to be a a winner between the two of them, since they both gave there best on the court. Shelby will play her next rounds tomorrow at 3:30 for the 12's and 5:00 for the 14's. Lets hope she comes away with two more wins.
