Pumpkin Sectional

Shelby had a good tournament in Las Vegas this past weekend, winning her first match in the main draw at a sectional event. Shelby lost in the second round of the main draw, but pulled off a 3 set win in the consolation round before loosing in the second round of consolation to a very good opponent from Utah. all in all it was a good event for her and another good learning experience for her as a tennis player. she played doubles, but lost in the first round on a cold and windy night. Her doubles partner Was Ellie Strande, who she hopes to play with for the next year in doubles at local and scetional events. pictures below

Broken String

Shelby broke her first string tonight while we were hitting in preperation for the pumpkin sectional in Vegas this weekend. This is the first time shelby has ever broken a string on her racket. I guess her power is starting to improve.Picture below

Rolling Hills Open

Shelby played the rolling Hills Open this past weekend in preperation for the Pumpkin Sectional coming up in Vegas this week. Shelby played both the 12's and 14's in the tournament and was able to reach the second round of both the 12's and 14's and played well in all of her matches. Now it is on to Vegas for her first sectional tournament.
