Red Rocks open 2014

Shelby won her second tournament in a row today in fine fashion, only dropping one game in the semi's and finals combined. Shelby won the Semi Finals 6-0 6-0 and capped of the tournament with a 6-0 6-1 performance in the finals to capture her second tournament in a row. Now it time to get back to the training and fitness and get ready for Salt lake next weekend.

First Vegas Win

Shelby got her first tournament win today in Las Vegas. After moving here in January, Shelby finally notched her first Tournament victory this weekend, for her first title in Las Vegas. Shelby won her first match 6-1 6-1, won her second round 6-0 6-1 and finished off her last match by winning 6-0 6-2 to secure the victory. Her game and footwork are really coming along well and we hope for a few more notches on the old bed post this summer in more local tournaments. Back to practice and working hard for the next event.

Darling Summer Challenger

Shelby had a good tournament this weekend at the Darling Summer Challenger. Shelby got a bye in the first round. Shelby won her first match 6-0 6-0, won her semifinal match 6-2 6-0, but lost in the finals to a very good opponent, 2-6 6-3 (10-6 in the tiebreaker) all in all a good tournament and her game is really coming along well right no. as always, its of to practice to get ready for the next event. This was her third local tournament where she made the finals in a row, so that is a great accomplishment right now

Meadows Classic 2014

Shelby reached her second final in 2 tournaments for the Girls 14's. She came up just short of taking home the tournament win, and got the runner up trophy for the second tournament in a row. she won her first match, 6-3 6-2, won her second match 7-5 6-7 10-6 in the third set tiebreaker to advance to the finals. Shelby had a tough match in the finals loosing 6-0 6-3 in what was a flat match for Shelby.Time to get ready for the Summer Sectionals in Denver in a few weeks, and see what she can do in that event.

Physicians and Barristers Tournament 2014

Shelby has a good tournament this weekend at the Physicians and barristers ball at her home courts at Lorenzi racket Club. Shelby's first round opponent defaulted, she won her second match 6-3, 6-2 and won her semi final match 6-3 6-1 to advance to the finals of the Girls 14's. She lost in the finals to Erin Wilson in a good match 6-2,6-3. All in all a good event and her strokes and her serve are coming along. Now it is time to get ready for the Meadows open in May.

Red Rocks Spring Junior Championship 2014

Shelby had a good tournament this weekend at Red Rocks Country club for the springs Championships. She won her first round match 6-2, 6-4 against Sheridan Sanford, then won her second round match 7-5 6-0 after a slow start against Natasha Scott. In the Quarter Finals, Shelby had a solid match, winning 6-1 6-0. Shelby came up against a tough opponent in the semi finals and lost 6-3 6-3. All in all a good event and a good sign going forward for her summer tournament schedule.

Indian Open Tournament

Shelby had a rough tournament this past weekend at the Indian Open at Lorenzi Racket club. She lost her first match to Erin Wilson 7-5 6-, won her second match 6-4 6-2 against Natasha Scott, and lost her final match to Anuja 6-0 7-5. her game was a little off this weekend, but her strokes are starting to improve each week. we will get back to practice this week and get ready for the next tournament in March.
